Haidji ,(Portugal)
Haidji was born on 12 of mai 1968.
Following education in Brazil and Germany she’s now between Portugal, Italy and Holland.
Her interest on art began the age of four when she got a blackboard for Christhmas .
She then started to draw objects around the house: chairs, tables and so on.
Her first memories are colours: in particular a green dress she was wering aged one-and-half.
And ever since, colours has held a fascination for her.
Her University education was at the University of Applied Science at Idar-Oberstein where she obtained a “Diploma” ( equivalent to a Master’s Degree) in Jewerly and Precious Stones – Design and Painting. She’s also a qualified Goldsmith.
Haidji is a talented and creative artist who produces abstract work, that ressonate with warmth and life.
There is a very spiritual feel to her work, almost an otherworldliness.
A captiving blend of Brazilian flair, Teutonic precision and Dutch pragmatism make’s Haidji’s work unique , appealinh and thought-provoking.
Since 1995 she has exibet her work and realised her projects in many countries: Germany, Brazil, Italy, Holland, Switzerland, England, Portugal, Spain, South Africa, Australia…
Colours
Are my fist visual memories
dancing around me hearing the sound…music?
envolving me, drainning over my hands
as I tryed to catch them…
colouring and discolouring my life
where sometimes the same thing that made me smile
made me cry…
like to breath the time, where we breath in and out
the moments tones.
There exist things therefor you can’t find tradution in a human language
for this things you have…Art
and the mediums you use are diferents
according with inspiration, possibilities, materials you have
where dreams don’t come into reality , biut the reality will worked to come so close as possible from dreams and ideas,
in a way that projects that seemed to be impossibles, turned into possibles between future and past in the eternal moment named present.
I don’t remenber the number of exhibitions, individuals or in groups,
and would be really boring to read 3 or 4 pages fullfilled with a list of names, adresses and dates.
a list wouldn’t also describe the essence of my projects…reason because I decided to just describe some of them
and some of the rest can be found in a search by google for “haidji”
here, only thoughts and examples of projects I’m doing or have done.,
