The Iranian embassy in Sri Lanka announced that it plans to screen movies from Iran’s renowned filmmakers twice a month after it realized Sri Lankan cinemagoers’ deep interest in Iranian films.
The Cultural Section of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s embassy in Sri Lanka said it would screen films by award winning Iranian artists in its auditorium on the first and last Wednesdays of every month due to increasing public demand for Iranian films among Sri Lankan audiences.
The inaugural show will be screened on December 7, at the auditorium of the Cultural Section of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, at Sir Earnest de Silva Mawathe, Colombo 7.
The shows will be sub titled in English for the benefit of local viewers.
The shows will commence at 5.30 p.m. The Cultural Section of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has invited prominent artists in the film industry and journalists for the inaugural session.
